Why I Celebrate Christmas

Some Christian friends of mine refuse to celebrate Christmas for two reasons: because even atheists celebrate it, and because we are meant to remember Christ all year. They have a couple of valid points. But just as you can't really have life without God, you can't really have Christmas without Christ. Though some deny the purpose, in reality it remains unaltered. And though we remember Jesus every day, sometimes we need a bit of reminding as to why. We humans forget all too easily how great a gift was given us. Glory to God in the highest. Hope you all had a blessed Christmas ♥

  1. Rom 14:5-6. If we have chosen to regard the day unto the Lord and in every sincerity truly do, bringing to remembrance what he has done and seperating Christmas day it unto Him, GOD sees our heart's desire to honor Him and is pleased. If we sincerely say we see no need to seperate a day because He should be celebrated everyday, we have like wise esteemed the Lord and He is equally pleased. GOD bless you Angie.

  2. Angie writes, “you can't really have Christmas without Christ.”

Why, without Christ, Christmas would merely be a holiday of gift-giving and greeting cards, of Santa Claus, of getting together with the family and having a special meal, of garlands and wreaths and twinkly lights, of holly and mistletoe, of stockings, cards, and jingle bells.

Would you even recognize such a Christ-less holiday as Christmas?~

  3. (Galatians 4:8-11) . . .Nevertheless, when YOU did not know God, then it was that YOU slaved for those who by nature are not gods. 9 But now that YOU have come to know God, or rather now that YOU have come to be known by God, how is it that YOU are turning back again to the weak and beggarly elementary things and want to slave for them over again? 10 YOU are scrupulously observing days and months and seasons and years. 11 I fear for YOU, that somehow I have toiled to no purpose respecting YOU.(Matthew 15:9-11) . . .It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’” 10 With that he called the crowd near and said to them: “Listen and get the sense of it: 11 Not what enters into [his] mouth defiles a man; but it is what proceeds out of [his] mouth that defiles a man.”
