Burdened

Wearied and burdened,
Heavy laden am I.
This load upon me seems
More than I can bear.

Life is full of suffering,
And it drains away my strength.
Even weeping requires
More than I now have to give.

Life is like a heavy stone:
I struggle to carry
It upon my back.
Soon, it may crush me.

Lord, You have called all
The weary souls and heavy hearts;
The weak, the poor, the sinners,
Extending comfort to us.

You promise rest, and
I know You do not lie.
You lead me to still water;
Peace I find in Your arms.

You took my greatest burden:
The weight of my sin and shame.
You freed me from Hell, and
Healed me from a living death.

The afflictions I am facing
You face with me in love.
You lift me, You hold me.
I trust that this will end.

This life's hardships are
For but a moment.
Joy with You will be
For all of eternity.

Thank You, Jesus.
